1st Financial Bank USA wants to celebrate those who recognize the importance of pursuing educational and financial goals with the 1st Financial Bank USA Financial Goals Scholarship.
The Gerrit R. Ludwig Scholarship Fund was established for the benefit of public high school graduates from East Hawai'i (Honoka'a to Ka'u). Dr. Gerrit Ludwig was an ophthalmologist in Hilo with a love for fine arts and classics. He set up this fund to support students from East Hawai'i studying in these fields. Applicants must major in a degree in fine arts or classics, including or closely related to: theatre/performing arts; ceramics/sculpture; literature/writing; art; painting; dance; drawing; music; photography; and philosophy. Applicants must be a Bachelor's or Graduate's degree-seeking student and attend an accredited institution within the US (including US territories).
