Valdosta State University, founded in 1906, is a public, multipurpose university. Its students gain personalized treatment in small classes. Programs are offered through the Division of Social Work and the Colleges of the Arts, Arts and Sciences, Business Administration, Education, and Nursing. Its two campuses total over 200 acres and are located in Valdosta, in southern Georgia, 115 miles west of Jacksonville, FL just a few driving hours from most major southern cities and beaches.
