Brigham Young U, founded in 1875, is a church-affiliated university of liberal arts and sciences. It is a continuing experiment on a great premise that a large and complex university can be first-class academically while nurturing an environment of faith in God and the practice of Christian principles. In this setting, students can experience a period of intensive learning in a stimulating setting where a commitment to excellence is expected and the full realization of human potential is pursued.
