Claremont McKenna, founded in 1946, is a private, liberal arts college. It is one of the Claremont Colleges, a group of five undergraduate colleges and one graduate school with adjoining campuses and shared facilities and services. It focuses on preparing students to be leaders. Students tend to be outgoing, very involved and entrepreneurial. Its 69-acre campus is located at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains, 35 miles east of Los Angeles.
